One of the oldest railway stations in India, opened as Bori Bunder station. Renamed Mumbai Central in 1996. Major terminus for long-distance trains.

History: Mumbai Central station has been serving Mumbai commuters since 1853 – that's 173 years of operation! The station was previously known as Bombay Central.
